Thank you Debbie G for sharing your opinion. Voting against this ordinance does not mean you do not want tourists to pay to park. Voting against this ordinance means this ordinance does not recognize that citizens already pay s hefty amount to live here by the gulf. Let the tourists pay... vote no

Wait for the next version of the ordinance allowing citizens to register 2 vehicles for free parking. They can add the registered license plate numbers to the database they check to determine who should not be ticketed.

• the city collected the money
• the city spent the money

What the citizens approved was:
• 75% of funds collected spent on Seawall Improvements
• 15% on maintenance
• 10% on Administrative overhead

So... did the information on this ever get released? Looking at the antenna on the vehicle it has all the earmarks of being law enforcement. You just have to think somebody "protected" was behind the wheel. So much for investigative journalism.

We are "year one" into a seven year fiasco known as Charge for Seawall Parking. The way the ordinance was worded and approved by voters it automatically expires seven years after the first dollar is collected. In order to be renewed it has to be voted on and approved at the polls. …
