John, like all Daily News employees, is wearing a mask in the building most of the time. He can take it off at his desk. Although much is uncertain about coronavirus, I'm willing to go out on limb and say you can't catch it from a mugshot. So relax.

No, it means the photos were taken maybe two years ago. Just for the record, Daily News employees have been required by company policy to wear masks in the building for about two weeks. We also are required to have our temperatures taken as soon as we enter the building.

As a matter of policy, reporters are supposed to always find out why members of boards abstain or are absent from votes. The reporter in this case just didn't follow policy.
