Santa Fe 3, Ball High 0

SANTA FE - It was a special night for the Santa Fe Lady Indians, as they clinched their first district championship since 1990 with an emphatic 25-9, 25-8, 25-14 sweep of the Ball High Lady Tors on Tuesday.

Keegan Nelms led Santa Fe with 17 kills. Kylie Verm led the defense with 10 digs, and added four aces and four kills. Cayla Hockenbury had 20 assists.

Courtney Mack led the Lady Tors’ defense with 12 digs, while Taylor Termini added 10 digs, three kills and an ace. Gillian Nelsen had 10 assists.

The Lady Indians (12-0 in District 23-5A) have Fort Bend Bush (7-5) for a home match up next at 6 p.m. Friday.

The Lady Tors (7-5) will look to stay alive in the playoff hunt when they host Fort Bend Ridge Point (9-3) at 6:30 p.m. Friday.

Texas City 3, Fort Bend Elkins 0

TEXAS CITY - Looking to solidify a spot in the playoffs, the Texas City Lady Stings picked up a 25-11, 25-18, 25-20 sweep of Fort Bend Elkins on Tuesday.

Treslyn Ortiz led Texas City with 16 kills and 11 digs, while Mya McMillian added seven kills and three blocks and Kelsey Thomas had five kills and two blocks. Kendal King had 29 assists and 11 digs.

The Lady Stings (8-4 in District 23-5A) shoot for their fifth straight win in their next match, which will be 6:30 p.m. Friday at home against Fort Bend Willowridge (0-12).

Clear Falls 3, Clear Brook 1

LEAGUE CITY - Once again playoff-bound, the Clear Falls Knights took care of business on Tuesday with a 25-10, 16-25, 25-17, 27-25 win over Clear Brook.

Haley Schroeder led the Knights’ attack with 10 kills, followed by Ashlynn Dunbar with nine kills and Briana Garcia with eight kills. Dunbar led team in assists with 28. Madelyn St. Germain led the defense with 21 digs.

Clear Falls (8-4 in District 24-6A) has its next match at Clear Springs (10-2) at 6:30 p.m. Friday.

Friendswood 3, Dickinson 0

DICKINSON - The Friendswood Lady Mustangs kept their playoff hopes alive in the District 24-6A gauntlet, topping the Dickinson Lady Gators on Tuesday by the scores of 25-13, 25-15 and 25-11.

Shannon Murphy led Friendswood with 13 kills, while McKenna Fridye chipped in 10 kills and three blocks. Sarah Thomas had 35 assists.

Baylee Klingler led Dickinson with nine kills, and Valencia Barrett had 18 assists. The defense was led by Christian Wilson with 14 digs.

The Lady Mustangs’ (6-6 in district) will next face the team they are currently tied with for 24-6A’s fourth and final playoff seed when they host Clear Lake (6-6) at 4:15 p.m. Friday.

The Lady Gators’ (0-12) next take on Clear Creek (12-0) in a road match 6:30 p.m. Friday.
