Sunday was one of those days that we mention often in that it was a beautiful day, as far as winter days go. However, not much was taking place on the fishing scene, at least as far as catches go. The subject of January fishing has been discussed several times recently and as we try to remind everyone, it can be a good month for fishing.

Capt. Mike Williams of Tarpon Express Guide Service sent the following note regarding his experiences over the years during January. Obviously, January is the month to go after that big red of a lifetime. Williams note went on to say:

Capt. Joe Kent is a columnist for The Daily News. Report your catch to or call 409-683-5273.
