I’m convinced there are two distinct types of surfers in this world: those who enjoy crowds and others who do everything they can to avoid them.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve gone out of my way to find breaks that were uncrowded. I’d forego paddling out at a surf location that appeared to have better waves just to avoid the throngs of other wave riders hassling for waves.
