Cycling is one of the best forms of cross-training for runners, and this year’s Bike Around the Bay cycling event offers options to make it more accessible to people who aren’t primarily long-distance cyclists.

Instead of a two-day, 170-mile ride circling Galveston Bay, the 2020 version is a one-day event featuring rides of 28, 67 or 95 miles. The ride is scheduled for Oct. 24.
