Young triathletes will take center stage at the upcoming Captain Kid’s Triathlon, scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 12, at Moody Gardens. More than 500 children are expected to swim, bike and run in the safe confines of Palm Beach and the surrounding area.

“The intention was to make it like an Ironman day just for kids,” triathlon organizer Chris Sustala said. “It’s a short race, and it’s a perfect course for kids because they don’t have to make a lot of decisions.”
