Remaining, renewed and new Big 12 rivalries after Red River

Oklahoma, right, runs a play against Texas in the first half Saturday, Oct. 12, 2019, at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas.

Going forward, I want to make sure everyone understands its the OU/Texas Red River Showdown. I saw some Texas fans say it’s the “Texas/OU Red River Showdown.” First of all, it doesn’t flow as nearly as well off your tongue that way. Secondly, Oklahoma has been much better than Texas in recent years. I mean, besides not being back and losing to the lowly Kansas Jayhawks, what have the Longhorns done?

Obviously, I believe OU is going to win. I’m an alumnus to the University of Oklahoma. I also believe the Sooners — despite their struggles — are still a better team than the Longhorns.
