Writing for Golf Advisor, Jason Scott Deegan recently offered some amusing observations after posing the question: “is your country club too stuffy for golf’s 21st century?”

He cited an instance where a member of his foursome was forced to purchase ($25) a pair of white socks before being allowed onto a certain course. Deegan noted that apparently wearing black socks with shorts was some sort of faux pas. I would vote no to the socks on the basis of fashion sense; however, I think $25 for the white socks was a bit over the top. That said, it is game where plaid pants and bright shirts the norm.
