By Oct. 9, Major League Baseball, the National Football League and the National Basketball Association will all be active — at least in Galveston, that is. And it’s all because of golf.

Former NFL player Mike Holmes (Ball High School class of 1969), chairman of the Galveston Professional Athletes organization, has announced the 2nd Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament in an effort to raise $25,000 that “will be used to provide scholarships and financial support to student athletes and future leaders in our communities.”
