What a fitting end to the Houston Astros’ regular season, as the 2021 American League batting champ Yuli Gurriel walked it off with an RBI single in a 7-6 win over the Oakland Athletics on Sunday afternoon at Minute Maid Park.

Gurriel actually spent the game on the bench until entering the contest for a Carlos Correa curtain call in the top of the ninth inning. But, the Astros bullpen blew a 6-3 lead. Then, Jason Castro singled, Jose Altuve hit a deep fly out and Yordan Alvarez doubled to bring Gurriel to the plate. And, well, hitters gonna hit, and Gurriel's game-winning knock improved his AL-best batting average to .319 to end the regular season.
