Finally a little feel of some cool weather. It will not last long, as the wind shifts back to the south Sunday. We could drop down to the mid-50s by early morning, but quickly warming to the mid-70s in the afternoon. Sunday should be a good day to fish Galveston Bay.

I have prepared for Tropical Storm Nicholas and plan to stay on the island. Of course, these systems have a way of changing, so I will continue to monitor the progression. We will see rain and elevated tides. If you have a boat at a marina, take caution to the rise in water levels.

The fish were not as aggressive as the past couple of days. We did manage a mixed catch of trout, reds, black drum, and sheepshead. All the fish came on live shrimp underneath a popping cork.
