Finally a little feel of some cool weather. It will not last long, as the wind shifts back to the south Sunday. We could drop down to the mid-50s by early morning, but quickly warming to the mid-70s in the afternoon. Sunday should be a good day to fish Galveston Bay.
Calmer winds greeted the anglers that ventured out Saturday. Tides were still around 2.5 feet below normal Saturday morning. So, for those of you who managed to get out on the water, let me know the results.
I have prepared for Tropical Storm Nicholas and plan to stay on the island. Of course, these systems have a way of changing, so I will continue to monitor the progression. We will see rain and elevated tides. If you have a boat at a marina, take caution to the rise in water levels.
Because of Ida, and the possibility of the storm coming our way early in the week, I received limited reports. Some people I know were prepping for the storm, just in case.
We are in a time of year when fishing is erratic and especially for those not able to have a boat from which to fish.
