What was supposed to be a nice post-Thanksgiving weekend turned out dreary. The forecast called for clearing skies Sunday morning. As I type this column, it is anything but that; the only color I see in the sky is gray.

It was another great day on the water for those that fished Sunday. Monday's weather will be a complete change. The first forecasted cold front will pass through the coastal waters and Galveston Island early Monday morning. Winds behind the front will from the northwest, shifting to the north. They will be gusty at times.

The other day, a reader asked about fish consumption advisories for Galveston Bay. The Texas Department of State Health Services monitors fish and issues advisories for Galveston Bay. They even break down these advisories according to species of fish and shellfish.

Finally a little feel of some cool weather. It will not last long, as the wind shifts back to the south Sunday. We could drop down to the mid-50s by early morning, but quickly warming to the mid-70s in the afternoon. Sunday should be a good day to fish Galveston Bay.
