In response to the letter by Jaclyn Low ("Abbott's political ambitions are killing Texans," The Daily News, Oct. 13): Comparing vaccine hesitancy to drunk driving (illegal) and discharging of a firearm (illegal) is both unintelligent and immature.

Pick a different tactic because you're comparing things as relatable as riding a bicycle on a sidewalk (illegal some places) to failure to disclose of HIV/AIDS before engaging in sex (illegal in almost all states, aside from California).

The health industry is overburdened because that's how hospitals operate. It's a business model, not a charity. Ninety to 95 percent capacity at all times saves cash to line their pockets. Plus, y'all fired a ton of them when they refused to get vaccinated. Good job.

"The unnecessary loss of human lives to the virus robs Texas of productive, taxpaying residents."

Now do Planned Parenthood.

This political game has come to our doorstep when too many of you voted against Trump instead of for Biden. Deal it with, like the rest of us.

We must realize that the Trump Virus will be with us for ever just take a look at the past history when it took years to get others pandemics under control. Science will be of value to our future not politics

You mean the Biden virus? More people have died under Biden's watch.

The man with the "Fecal Touch!" is Joe China! Poor man, everything he touches turn to "FECES!"

He touched our airlines, and now they are canceling flights. He touched the NBA, and now some of the star players don't play. We were energy Independent, but Joe China touched our Fossil Fuel, and now we have $6 gasoline, and we are begging oil Sheikhs to sell us more that we need! He touched the Medical Profession, and now many of those people are quitting their jobs or being fired! Police Officers are retiring early or quitting in droves,...and now we have a crime problem in America we have never seen before, especially in Democratic Strongholds like Detroit, Chicago, Portland, Minneapolis, and San Francisco!

He touched the Border now we have Drug and Sex Trafficking Cartels not only running the Border but are shooting the bird at Border Guards and Texas DPS as they Disregards/Violate our nation's sovereignty whole Joe China and the LEFT will not lift a finger to stop them.

Joe put his hands on Afghanistan, and he started mass killings, & murders of Americans, of our Allies and at risk Afghans! He put his hands on our military, and they start invesitgating them for White Supremacist involvement, even arresting a junior field officer ..driving him out of the military with tarnished discharge for being disenchanted with how Joe ran out of Afghanistan! Joe touched our schools and he started not only shoving "Racial Hate" "Inferiority" & " CRT" down their throats, but he ordered the FBI to start threatening the parents of those children for standing up for their rights as parents!

Nawww! This man has the "Fecal Touch!!" I predict as long as that man is allowed to high-step around this nation touching things and pressing buttons, experimenting with situations & processes he knows ZERO about, & afterwards running to a microphone lying about it, this nation is doomed!!

You are forgetting about what really happened to us during January 2020 . Trump had the power to prevent the Chinese Virus from entering America. But instead he chose to ignore the fact that it was a potential problem. His Republican administration felt that it would be a political disaster if they prevented people from entering America that might be carrying the Chinese Virus. You can blame the loss of American lives on President Biden but the real culprit was your wannabe Dictator Trump.Hence the Chinese Virus became the Trump Virus, which is still here talking American lives every day.As a result of the Republicans fear of loosing voters, the Trump Virus will be with us for quite some time.

George Laiacona is forgetting about what really happened to us during January 2020. Trump's main problem was paying attention to Dr Anthony Fauci and heeding his advice.

January 21: “This is not a major threat to the people of the United States and this is not something that the citizens of the United States should be worried about right now.”

I posted this on April 10, 2020:

The first person to die from COVID19 died on December 31, 2019 in China. The Trump administration took action on

January 6, 2020 - The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention warns Americans to take precautions if traveling to China.

Jan. 7 -The CDC’s Emergency Operations Center activates a COVID-19 Incident Management System, used to direct operations, deliver resources and share information.

Jan. 8 - The CDC issues an alert about the coronavirus, saying it is “closely monitoring” the disease and that there are “no known U.S. cases.”

Jan. 17 - The CDC holds its first COVID-19 telebriefing. Officials say that the agency will start screening passengers on direct or connecting flights from Wuhan. However, they said that they are not aware of measures regarding exit screening in Wuhan.

Jan. 21 - The first case of the coronavirus in the U.S. is confirmed in a patient near Seattle.

Jan. 22 - While at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, President Donald Trump is asked whether he has a plan to contain the coronavirus in the U.S. Trump responds by saying that the U.S. does have a plan and that he thinks it’s “going to be handled very well.”

Jan 27 Trump Tweet We are in very close communication with China concerning the virus. Very few cases reported in USA, but strongly on watch. We have offered China and President Xi any help that is necessary. Our experts are extraordinary!

Jan. 29 - Trump announces the creation of the President’s Coronavirus Task Force to lead the “United States government response to the novel 2019 coronavirus and with keeping him apprised of developments.” The White House said the task force was being led by Secretary of Health and Human Services Alex Azar.

Jan. 30 -President Trump discusses the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement at Dana Incorporated in Warren, Mich.

“Now we're working very strongly with China on the coronavirus -- that's a new thing that a lot of people are talking about. Hopefully it won't be as bad as some people think it could be.”

Jan 30 Trump Tweet Working closely with China and others on Coronavirus outbreak. Only 5 people in U.S., all in good recovery.

Jan. 31-The Trump administration suspends entry into the United States by foreign nationals who traveled to China within the last 14 days (excluding Hong Kong and Macau). This does not apply to lawful U.S. residents and family members/ spouses of U.S. residents or citizens.

Azar declares a U.S. public health emergency for COVID-19. The declaration was retroactive to Jan. 27.

Saying Trump chose to ignore the fact that it was a potential problem is a lie.
