The race for school board District 6-F has three good candidates in the running, all of which I am sure will do the best job possible in relation to their experience. I am friends with all three, which makes my decision tough, however, I feel that one candidate is more suited to the position and that candidate is Sandra Tetley.
Sandra has worked for NASA for over 25 years. She is the historic preservation officer and real property manager for all Johnson Space Center properties. In simple terms, this means that she is responsible for the upkeep of numerous facilities, and is constantly involved in the budgeting aspects as well.
She holds a bachelor's degree in International Business from the University of Texas at Austin, and a master's degree in Business Administration from the University of Houston-Clear Lake. Because she works in Clear Lake for an organization, as opposed to owning her own business in Galveston, I believe she is less likely to succumb to political pressure from special interest groups. She and her family have resided in Galveston since 1992, and both of her sons have attended GISD schools their entire life.
She is determined, she is passionate, she is the right candidate. Vote Tetley!
