I have known Judge Lonnie Cox for almost 20 years. Lonnie has worked harder for the citizens of this county than just about anybody I know.

When I moved to town as a baby lawyer back in 1998, Cox was working as an assistant district attorney, and I worked with him often as opposing counsel. I always found Lonnie to be fair and reasonable. I have also found him to be fair and reasonable as judge of the 56th District Court.

Not only has Cox dedicated his career to public service, he has also volunteered for many organizations, including the Boy Scouts of America, the Optimist Club, the Kiwanis, and the Rotary, to name but a few. Cox is a great leader. He is friendly to everyone he meets.

One thing he is not, is a criminal. It is important for a county judge to be friendly, have people skills, be a leader, and be fair and reasonable. I have no doubt that Cox would make an excellent county judge. That is why I am voting for Lonnie Cox for county judge, and I ask that you do as well.

Besides the hoopla that Cox started and lost the county millions of dollars, he Opinion piece on people who believe in God was all I needed to hear from Cox. I hope that he has seen the last of being a Judge soon and hope that he stays on the sidelines....
