Most residents of Galveston County have not heard of the Lone Star Coastal National Recreation Area. This proposal, which would have affected Matagorda, Brazoria, Galveston and Chambers counties, sought to bring business and control flooding in these coastal areas.
The truth is that the LSCNRA did not address our flooding risk in Galveston County. Instead of the Ike Dike, the proposal aimed at wetlands and natural barriers to protect our cities. We know, from the devastation caused by Hurricane Ike, that these are not enough. The ulterior motive of this plan was not to bring business and protect our county, but — rather — a move by the federal government to control our coastal properties and waterways.
League City was the last bastion the LSCNRA needed to sign on, in order for the proposal to pass. Fortunately, the council voted to deny it 8-0. I am so thankful that the council members saw through this proposal for its true intention, and believe we owe a debt of gratitude to them.
This was a great victory for We, the People, as well as a victory against a gluttonous federal government.

League City has made a giant step forward in saving, at this point, a huge amount of Texas Property. This is our property, not that of the Federal government.
What we need to let citizens become aware of, this particular program is part of the larger issue, Agenda 21.
NGOs, non governmental agencies, have huge power to control almost every facet of our lives. H/GAC, Houston, Galveston Area Council is a prime example. The money associated with the groups can almost always be traced back to Federal agencies.
Governor Greg Abbott is pushing the nullification of Agenda 21 in the state of Texas. Let's follow his lead and work closely to monitor what local agencies and governments are doing in trying to manage our lives and our properties.
Did you like it when "Smart Meters" were installed on your property? Now they have been talking meters for your water. These and along with a lot of other techniques are their way of slowly coming into our lives and taking away our privacy as well as our land.
My thanks to League City for knowing what is going on in regards to these type of endeavors!
I know that some artificial barrier for preserving the habitat is not going to stop the damage from a hurricane, the way that the Ike Dike will.
Don't be mislead by people who are wearing rose colored glasses! This is our land and our freedom!
The Loan Star Coastal National Recreation Area is a deceitful way of taking our coastline and 25 miles inland and turning it over to the Federal Government. Hidden in this plan is an endless amount of Government agencies such a EPA, NOAA, DHS, Dept of Agriculture, Army, Interior and many others using regulation from executive orders, executive actions and executive recommendations from the Interagency Ocean Policy Task Force to get the job done.
Every Bird, Duck, Water, Fishing, or Green Agenda from the treaties with the UN are for this because of the Grant money they get. So they will fight for this. The people of these Cities and Counties need to get informed and not fall for their lies and miss-truths. 1 VIDEO

Law of the Sea Treaty
Secretaries Clinton and Panetta and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Martin Dempsey testified on the United Nations Law of the Sea Treaty, an international convention that sets rules for under- and over-sea travel and commerce. The U.S. is the only major country that has not ratified the treaty. The witnesses argued in favor in favor of the U.S. signing the agreement for reasons that included national security, job creation, oil exploration, and countering China's influence in Asia. Senators who argued against the treaty cited loss of sovereignty, imposition of an international tax, and the allowance of foreign nations to regulate U.S. energy emissions as the basis for their disapproval. Secretary Clinton in her opening statement said that opposition to the treaty is based on "ideology and mythology."
