In response to the story ("Galveston's Polar Express brings recycling to Railroad Museum," The Daily News, Nov. 19): Kudos to Victoria Newsome and the Ball High School Honor Society volunteers. Creating a recycling program at the Galveston Railroad Museum for the Polar Express event is a wonderful and much-needed effort.

This should be a model for many other community events. They deserve a big thanks from all of us who want to reduce litter and waste in Galveston.
