Browbeaten? Exactly who was being browbeaten and exactly who was doing it? Perhaps you can give examples...just curious...

Following a "Merry Christmas" greeting from Justice Neil Gorsuch we read:

Playboy writer and BBC commentator Amee Vanderpool's Tweet:

“Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch just appeared on Fox and Friends this morning, making a point to parrot the ‘Merry Christmas’ talking point of the GOP. If he's willing to go on Fox and throw a shout out to Republican narratives, what else is he willing to do?”

HaHa, Ho, Ho, Ho. I don't think Cathy meant some non-christians literally holds people down and beat their brows. I think she means the way retailers and the media have changed from saying Merry Christmas to Seasons Greetings because they don't want to "offend" or have their brows beaten by anyone.

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good life!

Was Jesus actually born on December 25th? Probably not. Early Christians took a pagan holiday and replaced it with a mass to honor Christ- Christ's Mass. A bit redundant since each mass is a celebration to honor Jesus Christ who died at the cross for the sins of the world. But it did accomplish the goal of replacing the pagan celebration people were used to celebrating.

Fun fact - Christmas was outlawed by our Puritan forebears because of its association with Catholicism, and with having a good time. It wasn't made a federal holiday until 1870. I enjoy celebrating it as an act of rebellion against religious fanaticism.
