I'd rather see a greater push towards families taking back responsibility for caring for their elderly rather than dumping them in homes.

I agree Ron, but unfortunately that's not always possible.

I agree with you absolutely. I worked in a very reputable nursing home as an Activity Director, I saw more neglect of patients from the Nurses Aids and sometimes visiting foot doctors. If I were a family member I would advise staying and visiting with that loved one as often as you can. After they see you there often enough they tend to forget you are there and continue with their bad behavior, for you to witness. It is hard for an employee's voice of concern to make a difference.
