It’s nice to see that our local newspaper has posted a lot of information regarding the street lighting problems in district one that has been going on for many years. Now if city council actually does something about it other than passing the buck to center point maybe we just might see improvements in the district that has been continuously neglected for years. Take for example the lighting of the Broadway esplanades. Some of the lighting was not working for years. Then when they finally replaced the fixtures the light the esplanades very well, but there are no side walls in the esplanades. Except for the decorative lighting in front of the the cemetery, the rest of the sidewalks are still in the dark . People actually use the dark side walls on Broadway. I hear them almost every night as they pass by our home. This article will be read by many island residents, but can they actually do something that will make a difference in district one?

Side walls??? Don't you mean side walks?

There are no sidewalls on the Escalade.
