Unfortunately the board had become consumed in advocating for Reese and against O’Rourke rather than focusing on the employees and residents who will be living the long term results of their decisions. No matter how many times they say they’re not eliminating or reducing cargo, the master plan shows just that. Reese’s past actions show that there is a need for board oversight, not happy back slapping.

It sure would be interesting to take a deposition from the port detective and ask him, under oath, exactly who asked him to record the conversation. I really can't see this detective waking up one morning and thinking, hmmm, I think I'll record O'Rourke to see if I can get something on him.

Michael, every key point you make here is correct but, there is a bigger story that is peeking out from under the one you are addressing. One long-term ship repair tenant is gone; three long-term cargo tenants are on their way to being gone; and, if the POG mishandles the huge pain they are inflicting on two more long-term cargo tenant by uprooting them and forcing them move to an inferior location at the opposite end of the Port, they may well lose them too. There is always plenty of passenger ship coverage and petty infighting by POG officials coverage in the paper; it is past time to dig up what is really happening to diversified cargo and ship repair operations at the Port and give that a little daylight (ink) too.
