Texas City trash collection

Roberto Lara jumps off a garbage truck to collect trash from a neighborhood in Texas City on Friday, Jan. 18, 2019.

Texas City residents should give the city’s new automated garbage service a chance.

City officials have fielded hundreds of calls about planned changes to the services, effective Feb. 1. Some of those calls are to lodge complaints, while others are to register support, city officials have said.

Galveston's automated system works fine. The city augments it with a service that on the same day manually picks up lawn bags placed near the curb. I think it's an excellent system.

Yep, Galveston has excellent trash service. Best of any place I have lived.

Thank you, Laura, for not including the 'efficiency'...uh....garbage.....in the article....[beam]
But, better title, imo, than 'give it a chance' would be simply "Suck it up, Buttercup" because unless you are given a voice, then you have no choice but comply. [wink]
This, too, shall pass. I look forward to March 1 so I can get a second mini-dumpster. One advantage to some folks is their trash bag shredding cats and dogs will stop disappearing....[innocent]
I DO feel bad for anyone who has less garage storage space and/or outside storage space than I do...these things are big enough to sleep in if you PO your 'boss'...

It's a dangerous job working on the back of a garbage truck. One young man was recently killed in Orange Texas.
