The Galveston City Council should approve a slate of staff-recommended changes meant to get idle construction projects going and prevent worksite dumpsters from becoming eyesores and public nuisances.

City administrators plan next month to introduce new fees and permit deadlines meant to speed up long-stalled building projects and clean up construction dumpsters and work sites.
