Jones Drive boat ramp

Galveston is seeking money for a new boat ramp that would replace a dilapidated ramp near Jones Drive. Hurricane Ike destroyed the first ramp near the bridge 11 years ago.

We urge the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department to approve the city of Galveston’s application for money to build a second public boat ramp on the island.

Anglers and boaters have been asking for a second public ramp, and tourism leaders hope having one would encourage more visitors to come to the island.
