School board members meeting tonight to discuss the scope and expense of a planned bond issue to pay for a bigger, better Ball High School should not, in the glow and excitement of what might be achieved, forget a key player in this process — the taxpayers.

There’s no doubt public schools must have consistent capital investment to remain relevant and be worth the substantial recurring operating expenses.
