The Galveston City Council is playing a risky revenue game all in the name of a token tax cut that won’t bring much relief to anyone.

The council last week in a 4-3 vote adopted a 2023 budget that would rely on $500,000 of revenue that doesn’t yet exist in its $71 million general fund.
