Day Two of the Lone Star Rally

Riders cruise The Strand on the second day of the annual Lone Star Rally in downtown Galveston on Friday, Nov. 2, 2018.

We’re pretty sure you’ve heard the rumbles of motorcycles as thousands of enthusiasts arrive to transform Galveston into hog heaven for the 18th year.

The Lone Star Rally officially kicked off Thursday and will include a plethora of bikes, contests, concerts, vendors and attractions for those who trek to the island year in and year out to participate in the largest four-day motorcycle event in North America, which ends Sunday.

Thanks Angela - great words and good reminders.

All Good tips, but another would be to ask the riders to keep out of a car's blind spot.

It might be useful for the paper to publish these helpful instructions on how to make a left turn on Broadway ever day there are tourists in town, bikers or anyone else. It would also be useful to tell them that these instructions for pulling into the median and waiting are true at every street EXCEPT 51st Street. Cars sitting in the middle of that intersection create havoc when the left turn signals turn green...
