April is National Volunteer Month, which is the perfect push you might need to shake off the pandemic malaise and do some good.
According to the Be A Neighbor Campaign at beaneighborcampaign.com, an estimated 370,000 volunteer spots go unfilled in Texas each week. According to the campaign, almost 16.9 million people in Texas — 58 percent of the population — are at risk of experiencing critical need and potentially will require help from nonprofit organizations and the volunteers who staff their programs and deliver their services.
