While not every non-partisan (by law) Texas municipal election proceeds quietly, the one for Dickinson's mayor had multiple opportunities to get ugly but did not. I'm impressed and amazed.
It's also quite true that in local elections, "every vote does count" as Mr. Smith noted.
The most impressive thing for me was that they hugged when it was over. Feel bad for Ms. Lawrence. I hope she pursues other opportunities to serve. The fact that the vote total was 2020, kinda gives me chills. So apt for what folks have been through this past year.
