The family of Gayle Catherine Baker is saddened to announce that she passed away from complications of pancreatic cancer on November 2, 2017, in La Veta, Colorado. Born December 7, 1941, in Middletown, Ohio, she graduated from Middletown High School in 1959 and from The Ohio State University School of Dentistry as a dental hygienist in 1962. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from OSU in 1963.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Robert A. Baker, of Middletown, OH, and La Veta, CO; daughter Lara Baker Whelan and son-in-law Raymond McLemore of Cohoes, NY; son Adam G. Baker of Houston, TX; brother John Humston of Beeville, TX; and granddaughter Bonnie V. Whelan of Macon, GA.
Gayle was an active member of every community she lived in, which included Naperville, IL; Houston and Galveston, TX; and La Veta, CO. She enjoyed weaving, knitting, paper crafts, traveling, new adventures and beating everyone at cards.
