Joanne E. Bauman Johnigan, 90, died peacefully on Monday, September 11, 2017, in Houston, TX.

Mrs. Johnigan was born in Pensacola, FL. She and her family, moved to Beaumont. She attended Beaumont High School, where she met her “to be husband”, William “Bill” Johnigan, and graduated in 1944.

During her life’s work, she served as President of the PTA, President of the Air Conditioning Workers Association and was the secretary for 20+ years to the Scholes Field Airport manager in Galveston, TX. They moved to Bedias, TX. She had a dress shop named “Fashion Fair” in downtown Huntsville, TX. They chose to move to Baton Rouge, LA, due to Bill’s failing health. After Bill passed, Joanne started a resale shop named “GJo’s Treasure Chest” near Drusilla Lane. Later on she moved to the Houston area to be close to her sons and their families.

She is preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy “Dot” Bauman, her parents, Eva Blackmon Bauman and Johanna “Ollie” Bauman and her husband, William “Bill” Johnigan.

She is survived by her brother, John “Buddy” and his wife, Elaine Bauman, Baton Rouge, LA. She is also survived by her sons, William “Sonny” Johnigan, of Houston, Robert “Robbie” and wife Mona Johnigan, of Houston and David and wife Jane Johnigan, of Texas City. Joanne has eight grandchildren, 16 great-grand children and one great-great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be held, October 28 2017, 4:00 PM at the Crossbridge Christian Church, 15415 West Rd, Houston, TX, 77095.
