Cathleen Calhoun Callihan

Cathleen left this earth unexpectedly and far too young on January 4, 2018 at her home in Issaquah, Washington. She is preceded in death by her parents Lester Ray Calhoun and Doris Burns Calhoun, and brother Michael Ray Calhoun. Born in Texas City, November 3, 1947, she attended LaMarque schools where she is remembered as an outgoing cheerleader. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 1969 and was a member of the Tri Delta Sorority.

After a successful and varied career as Teacher, International Flight Attendant, Administrative Assistant and Manager in the advertising industry, a television Host on Channel 8, and an art gallery owner, Cathleen felt led to pursue a career in law. She graduated from South Texas College of Law in 1988 where she received the Top 25% American Jurisprudence Award and was licensed to practice law in both Texas and Colorado. After several years practicing law in both Houston and Dallas, Cathleen moved to Issaquah, Washington in 1995 where she joined the legal department of Costco Wholesale Corporation as Corporate Counsel. She was to retire in April of this year completing 23 years of service. At Costco, she left her mark on a number of important programs.

Cathleen is survived by two Aunts, Dean Burns Brisbin of Holland, Texas and Christine Burns Mosley of Sugar Land, Texas, numerous cousins and second cousins by whom she was much loved and will be greatly missed.

A graveside service in Celebration of her Life will be held Wednesday, January 17th, 11:00am at Forest Park East Cemetery, Webster, Texas.
