Norvell “Nappy T” Butler, 69, who was born on January 23,1948 went home to be with the Lord on November 25, 2017 at Mainland Medical Center in Texas City, TX.

He was the husband of Gwendolyn Faye Butler. They shared 34 years of marriage together. Norvell was born in Galveston, Texas. He was the son of Trevor Butler and Lillie Mae Smith. Norvell attended Central High School and graduated with the class of 1966. Norvell gave 15 years of employment at Moody Gardens as an Operations Supervisor. He was a member of Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church. Norvell enjoyed playing basketball at a young age and he will be remembered for his classy dress and cool walk.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Lillie Mae Mosby and sister, Shirley Ann Vaugh.

He is survived by his spouse, Gwendolyn Butler; brother, Carl T. Mosby (Yvonne); sister, Marie Norris; son, Byron James (Montrice); daughters, Nyree James, Courtney Butler, Danisha Bell, Vernetta Bell; grandchildren, Shawntae, Kiante, Patience, Katlyn, Amarie, Amonia, Heaven, Kendrick, Kayla and Bre’Shay and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

The memorial service will be held Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Bay Area Funeral Directors, 5410 FM 1765 Texas City, TX 77591. Flowers may be sent to the funeral home.
