Albert E. King, III

GALVESTON, TX — Albert E. King, III, 76, of Galveston, passed away Saturday, May 20, 2023. He was born on February 9, 1947 in Berkeley, California, the first child of Albert E. King, Jr. and Edna Jean Jannasch King. Al graduated from Salesian High School in Richmond, CA in 1965, attended California State College, and completed his education at University of Houston. He was something of a Renaissance man, always reading and studying, until he found his true calling as a nurse at University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX. He retired from nursing after he survived a near fatal car accident and became disabled.

Prior to his accident, Al was an avid volunteer at the Grand Opera House, Dickens on the Strand, Galveston Summer Outdoor Musicals and for the Galveston Historical Foundation. The last eight years of his life were spent at Garden Terrace in Houston.
