How to submit an obituary
Always check with the funeral home first. Many funeral homes provide basic information and will write the full obituary for you as part of the services they provide.
Obituaries are a paid feature of the Galveston County Daily News. Cost is based on the length of the obituary. Once received, we will provide a proof and quote.
The deadline to submit an obituary is 12 noon for the following day's edition. They MUST be e-mailed in a ‘Word document’ format EXACTLY as you wish to have published. All photos must be in JPG format with a 300 DPI resolution.
You are urged to ensure the information is accurate and spelled correctly as The Daily News assumes no responsibility for inaccurate information provided to us.
Verification of death is required (death certificate) OR name and phone number of the funeral home or crematory. Without verification, we cannot publish.

A memorial church service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Texas City on October 26, at 10am 2021 29th Street North, Texas City, Texas, In lieu of flowers donations may be made to your charity of choice. At the wish of Camilla, a small gathering on the beach will be held to celebrate her life and to lay her ashes to rest with her mother. Family and friends of Camilla will be welcome to join, date to be announced.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Galveston Island Humane Society.
Josephine’s family will receive visitors beginning at 5:00 pm, Friday, October 18, 2019, at Malloy & Son Funeral Home. A rosary will begin at 6:30 pm.
Funeral Mass will be 9:30 am, Saturday, October 19, 2019, at St. Patrick Catholic Church with burial following at Galveston Memorial Park in Hitchcock.
