GREENSBORO, N.C. (AP) -- Doran Turchin hit a two-run single in the fifth inning, leading the Delmarva Shorebirds to a 3-2 win over the Greensboro Grasshoppers in the first game of a doubleheader on Wednesday.

The single by Turchin scored Adam Hall and Cadyn Grenier to give the Shorebirds a 3-0 lead.

Greensboro answered in the bottom of the frame when Brett Kinneman hit a two-run home run to get within one.

Robbie Thorburn homered and singled for Delmarva.

Delmarva right-hander Grayson Rodriguez (5-0) picked up the win after allowing two runs on just three hits over five innings. Opposing starter Osvaldo Bido (5-2) took the loss in the South Atlantic League game after giving up three runs and eight hits over 4 2/3 innings.
