PAPILLION, Neb. (AP) -- Franklin Barreto hit a two-run homer in the second inning, and Sheldon Neuse homered and had three hits as the Las Vegas Aviators defeated the Omaha Storm Chasers 4-2 on Tuesday.
The home run by Barreto scored Beau Taylor to give the Aviators a 3-1 lead.
The Aviators tacked on another run in the eighth when Neuse hit a solo home run.
Omaha saw its comeback attempt come up short after Kelvin Gutierrez hit a solo home run in the ninth inning to cut the Las Vegas lead to 4-2.
Las Vegas left-hander Sean Manaea (1-1) picked up the win after allowing one run on four hits over 5 2/3 innings. Opposing starter Eric Skoglund (1-4) took the loss in the Pacific Coast League game after allowing three runs and seven hits over five innings.
