I've long believed that attitudes regarding issues such as abortion and LGBT rights are fundamentally religious in nature. Years before Obergefell, same-sex couples could easily find a church in any city in the nation that would happily accept them as members and affirm their relationship - even if that affirmation had no legal status.

America is supposed to be the home of religious tolerance, but any examination of our history shows that "religious tolerance" too often has meant a celebration of majority faiths and the active suppression of the rest. People have a right to believe what they want, and people have the right to exercise those beliefs in how they live.

"Bludgeon" is an apt term for the religious intolerance that is being inflicted upon trans people. Your right to your religious beliefs does not include the right to legislate away the very existence of people you disagree with.

The church accepts all sinners. If it did not then the churches would be empty. Accepting sinners does not mean accepting their sinful ways.

Religious people can't stand the fact that people aren't listening to them anymore, so they are resorting to new laws to make illegal for people to have their own views.

... so saith the anti-prophet Ted Gillis.[rolleyes]
