"And 65% say the church should allow openly gay men to be ordained."

And who were the "priests" who sexually abused boys? Those who are "gay".

Seminaries thought that taking avow of celibacy would prevent this. With some , yes but for too many.... no.

To be either openly gay or heterosexual would go against their vows. If the candidate is "openly gay" the priesthood is not for him.

As usual, the poll does not differentiate the results into two groups. Those who attend church at least once a week from the occasional Catholic. And we have those who call themselves Catholic but only appear when lilies or poinsettias adorn the church.

Bottom line, don't trust an AP poll.

Communion should only be received after absolution of sin.

Said aloud in church: "I confess to almighty God and to you, my brothers and sisters, that I have greatly sinned in my thoughts and in my words, in what I have done and in what I have failed to do, through my fault, through my fault, through my most grievous fault; therefore I ask blessed Mary ever-Virgin, all the Angels and Saints, and you, my brothers and sisters, to pray to pray for me to the Lord our God."

The penitential rite offers forgiveness for all venial sin. The penitential rite is not

a substitute for the confession for mortal sin (the willful and knowledgeable violation of God’s law concerning a something of a serious nature), which we are required to confess and receive penance and absolution.

"According to the new poll, 63% of Catholic adults say abortion should be legal in all or most cases, and 68% say Roe should be left as is."

Catholics I know say no to abortion. But then again, Catholics I know go to church on at least a weekly basis. The 68% polled need to go to church.

Ted Gillis

Us 68% prefer not to be around the 32% on a weekly basis, or haven't you noticed Carlos. Some of us poinsettia lovers are finding ourselves being spiritually satisfied without having to interact weekly with those that have such a critical opinion about how someone lives their life.

And besides my parish and diocese both seem to happily cash my monthly donation checks without any remorse.

Then if they don't like going to church, quit calling yourselves Catholic.

Ted Gillis

We’re more catholic than you are. You just proved it.

Carlos Ponce

You are welcome to return anytime, Ted, but we cannot help you if you do not come to church and sacraments

Ted Gillis

Nobody is asking for your help Carlos.

Look in the mirror and help yourself.

With each post Ted makes I hear him crying for help.

Ted Gillis

As if!

We will pray for you, Ted! I wish you had listened to Deacon Alvin Lovelady's homily today. He spoke about a Catholic taking Catholicism wherever you go and whatever you do.

Ted Gillis

I’ve told you before Carlos, don’t assume you can pray for someone without them giving you permission to do so, as It’s creepy and borderline stalking. If you don’t quit it, I have a half a mind to call Lovelady himself and him talk with you. You need to stop now as you’re way out of line.
