One man was killed and another faces murder charges after a Sunday morning shooting that began with an argument, according to the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies arrested a 52-year-old man Sunday, and the sheriff's office is seeking murder charges, Sheriff Henry Trochesset said. The suspect had not been before a judge for official charging Sunday afternoon, Trochesset said.

Deputies were called to the 600 block of Ninth Street on reports of a man being shot, Torchesset said.

A man was found and emergency responders began CPR, he said. The man was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:48 a.m., he said. Officials declined to release the name of the deceased Sunday afternoon.

Two men had gotten into an argument the night before while drinking, Trochesset said.

A man fled from the shooting and deputies arrested him at the corner of FM 517 and Avenue S, Trochesset said. Deputies also took a handgun from the arrested man, he said.

Criminal gangs & corruption desperately needs to be brought under control in San Leon. That situation is getting worse by the year, District Attorney Jack Roady needs to step up to the plate and uphold his responsibility to enforce the state law. Looking the other way is not cutting the mustard.

Were they sipping the Devil's tonic? Notice that as inflation raises the price of every kind of commodity there is, but the value of human lives... decreases in comparison? Notice how cheap the value placed on a human life in today's world by humans themselves? Crying shame!
