Sad, tragic and avoidable

i didn't even know that there was such a thing as "unlawful carrying of a weapon" anymore. Is the new law not in effect yet? After its in effect, will there be such a thing as unlawful carrying of a weapon?

Bailey Jones

I had the same question. There are still a few people who can't carry a gun - felons, people under a court order for assault, crazy people, etc.

AND Intoxicated people who are over the legal limit.

David Blumentritt

Its a tricky law that if your ARRESTED for a DWI,, regardless if your later convicted or not you get an unlawful carry charge if you have a gun in the vehicle. You are charged with unlawful carry whether you have a concealed carry or not. I don't think this is very well known and I don't know how it can be justified.

Jim Casey

It's illegal to carry a firearm while intoxicated—even if you have a CHL.
