One man was taken to the hospital after the motorcycle he was driving ran into a car during a police-related chase, police said.

The motorcycle driver was being pursued by a Texas Department of Public Safety motorcycle trooper for a traffic violation about 5:30 p.m. Friday, said Sgt. Stephen Woodard, spokesman for the department of public safety.

Woodard wasn’t immediately sure for what traffic violation the officer was pursuing the motorcycle.

The motorcycle crashed into a car at 20th Street and Harborside Drive, Woodard said. He had no information Friday night about whether the car was parked or moving or if there was anyone in it at the time of the crash.

The motorcycle driver was injured and transported to the hospital, Woodard said. The trooper was unharmed, he said.

Woodard didn’t immediately have information about the extent of the man’s injuries.
