I think the officer should be sent to 3 or 4 AA meetings a week for 6 months minimum.

I, for one, believe in second chances. Young people, regardless of their profession, are going to make mistakes in judgement. This incident will probably make him a better officer at least a more compassionate one.

AA or some type of counciling coupled with community service would do him some good.

There is a first time for everybody for anything. I don't believe Officer Pineda needs anything more than internal protocol with his drinking choices. This is the season of joy and thanksgiving. Go easy this on him but warn him no further repeats.
