Simon Peter Abdul-Ahad is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon family violence, police said. His bond is set at $250,000.
Officers at about 7 p.m. Tuesday responded to a report of gunshots in the 8400 block of Seawall Boulevard and found a 50-year-old man with gunshot wounds to the face and abdomen, said Sgt. Xavier Hancock, spokesman for the Galveston Police Department.
The man was transported to the emergency room and was in critical condition as of Wednesday, Hancock said.
Abdul-Ahad sustained a gunshot wound to his arm, Hancock said.
He was transported to the hospital and later released and arrested, Hancock said.
