GALVESTON — Half of the 536 FEMA-funded recovery projects that the city planned after Hurricane Ike have been completed and paid for, according to a report given to the city council.

The city has closed 258 projects with the Federal Emergency Management Agency since Hurricane Ike in 2008. Another 91 projects are physically completed and in the final administrative steps of being closed, according to the update.
