Galveston artist Justin Lopez has spent 50 hours of his free time painting a patriotic mural on the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 880 building at 24th Street and Avenue K in Galveston. After a friend asked Lopez for his talents, he decided that is was a great opportunity to give the VFW some character. Lopez hopes the mural will help people better find the building. While one half of the south wall is nearly done, an eagle awaits color on the other half.

LOVE THIS ! We are regulars on Tuesday Burger Night and occasionally steak nights on Friday.... the memorial ceiling tiles are a reminder of those who’ve proudly served our country our as well as the veterans who are regulars including some from WWII... I’m so glad to see this on the building honoring them.
