Hurricane Harvey victims have more time to register or inspect their vehicles.

Gov. Greg Abbott on Monday extended a waiver that allows people in disaster-affected counties, including Galveston County, to wait until Nov. 15 to meet the requirements for vehicle inspections and registration.

"Trying to meet vehicle registration and inspection deadlines in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey should not be an additional burden on those still recovering,” Abbott said.

People will not be fined for failing to register a vehicle during the waiver period.
