The Salvation Army of Galveston County will kick off its annual Red Kettle Campaign at 11:45 a.m. Friday at 4801 Emmett F. Lowry Expressway in Texas City.

The divisional brass quartet will be on hand with songs of the season, the canteen will provide lunch, and the iconic Red Kettle will be on hand to receive the first gifts of the season.

The campaign goal for 2021 is $250,000.

“With 28 physical kettles and a virtual one, each kettle will need to raise $8,650 during the season to reach the goal," said Maj. Nathanael Doria of The Salvation Army. "This will help us start 2022 in a favorable position to continue serving those in need who come to us for food, shelter and emergency assistance.”
