The deadline for people to apply for individual Hurricane Harvey assistance from the federal government is approaching.

The final day to apply for assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency is Nov. 30. Individual assistance from FEMA includes help with temporary housing, rental assistance and repair or replacement of damaged houses.

The FEMA process also allows people to qualify for grants for  medical and dental care, child care, funeral and burial costs, replacing essential household items, moving and storage, vehicle repairs and some clean-up items.

The final day to register for grants from the U.S. Small Business Administration is Friday.

The administration can provide low-interest loans to businesses, nonprofits, homeowners or renters, if they were uninsured against flood damage.

To apply for either type of disaster recovery aid, visit DisasterAssistance.gov or call the FEMA help line at 80-621-3362.
